Calm in the Storm

We're coming off (or, perhaps, are still in the midst of) a crazy, crazy few weeks. The constellation of work, events, travel, colds, fun, new teeth, activity, and madness has been at a fever pitch since mid-September and we are pretty exhausted. In the middle of it all, we spent the weekend with Billy and Kirty and Bracket and Cash and Steph and Gabe in Alameda -- a lovely pair of days of good food, wine, and friends that continue to do us a world of good, enabling us to stop and take a breath before diving back into the fray. Cash and Tate are about 6 months apart, and are quite the curly-headed duo.

yyyaaaAAAYYY!!

Tate's learning the wonders of balancing things on other things. For example, he's very proud of his newfound ability to stand up on the seat of his Radio Flyer bike while holding onto the handlebar, a la a circus performer. He's also learned that a sippy cup will balance on the back of a Tate-sized chair, which as the video will show, is VERY entertaining....yyyaaaaaAAAAAYYYYY!!!

We've been busy with vacation(s) and the start of school and busy, busy, busy... but the little man is keeping it pretty fun.

Tate's walking like a little motor-mounted, red bull-driven machine--it's awesome!
About two months ago, an NMA board member said to me, "Colin, Tate must be just about a year old now, isn't he?"
"Yes, that's right," I said. "He's almost exactly a year old."
She laughed. "You're about to lose some weight!"
Well, I'm going to lose some weight, I think, but what a great way to do it.
Tate's taking over Gram and BaBa's kitchen in this little flick. He's moving faster than his dad can keep up with the camera, as you can see... ;-)
